A rather entertaining video from IBM (Yes – IBM and entertaining!), which neatly sums up both the achievements and the challenges ahead for those tasked with evolving IT.
The script clearly states the huge problem that spend on administration eats into IT spending, 70% is spent on it according to IBM. Perhaps if a sequel is made IBM could enlist the cinematic superstars of sorting this problem – Tom and Ted of AutomatedIT fame.
So come on IT Managers, lets continue the good fight by Automating your IT and reducing administrative spend - it could be going down in the computing history books!

Why would we listen to IBM – after all they were the guys in the 50’s who said their would only ever be the need for 7 computers in the world ever – but hey – if cloud and SaaS continues a pace – maybe it won’t be that far off the mark – and then again – if we centralise everything with light terminal devices liike net biooks and hand held devices at the edge – won’t that mean lless admin at the edge???
